Well you know that you need to take your pregnancy vitamin but the thought of doing this just almost makes you sick just thinking about it. This might not just be the fact that you are pregnant or what you eat that makes you sick, it might very well the vitamin that you are taking, so what to do now.
Pregnancy vitamins are very important and something that a pregnant woman needs to take to stay healthy and make sure that their baby develops the way that they should. But because of what a pregnant woman needs, pregnancy vitamins contain a large amount of iron and folic acid, both of which have the ability to make you sick. So if you put that with the fact that you stomach and body are going through changes then there is a much better change that you could get sick to your stomach.
If you find that your pregnancy vitamin is making you sick there are a few things that you can do to make sure that it doesn’t upset your stomach and make you sick. Since you now have a better idea as to how and why the vitamins make you sick then you will have a better chance of stopping it.
Make sure that you take your pregnancy vitamin with some food, usually at a mealtime is going to be best. It’s best to make sure that you take them with something that has a great deal of protein in it, such as eggs. Its’ also a good idea to drink a full glass of water after you take the pill to help it stay down better.
The last thing that you want to do is take a pregnancy vitamin on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, as this is the time that your stomach is going to be the most sensitive.
If you can’t find any way to keep the pregnancy vitamin down during the morning time then try to take it at night, that way you might be able to go to sleep and when you wake up to won’t feel sick. Try taking it with some crackers or a bowl of cereal and cheese to help calm the stomach and get some sleep.
If you can’t seem to find any way to keep it down then you might do well to ask your doctor if there is something that you can do or if should try to take a different pregnancy vitamin.
