Relaxation Class For Pregnancy Woman
During pregnancy, mothers produce their own natural tranquil-User—a hormone known as pregnanolone—to help keep them relaxed and stress free.
When you stop work and sit or she down and relax, the muscles of your abdominal wall and womb relax too. Relaxation helps to optimize the flow of blood and nutrients to the womb and counteracts the potentially harmful effects of stress.
Babies of mothers who take part in prenatal relaxation classes, such as yoga, have few obstetric complications and have a lower risk of having a low birth weight baby than do mothers who fail to relax regularly throughout pregnancy.
Babies born to relaxed mothers are also less likely to suffer from anxiety, depression or hyperactivity in later life. It is therefore important to sit down for increasing periods of time as your pregnancy progresses.
From around 30 weeks of pregnancy, it is also important to lie down for at least an hour mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Lying down relaxes the uterine muscles as well as boosting circulation through the placenta. Read the rest of this entry »
Benefit Of Chiropractic Therapy For Pregnancy Woman
You don’t have to be expecting a baby to know that pregnant mothers suffer a whole range of uncomfortable ‘side-effects’. These may be anything from nausea and back pain to constipation, heartburn and fatigue, and most women are only too familiar with the less happy side of being pregnant. In fact, studies show that 50 per cent of women suffer with low back pain during pregnancy.

Chiropractic can often restore the feelings of blooming health and vitality that are supposed to accompany pregnancy. It works on the principle that the nervous system controls every part of the body through the nerves branching off the spinal cord from between each spinal joint.
If the joints are not moving properly (as a result of poor posture, stress, accident or other factors) the nerves can be affected and cause discomfort, pain or even disease.
Chiropractic involves gentle and specific manipulation of the joints of the spine and limbs, to restore mobility, relieve pressure on nerves and allow the body to heal. No drugs are used, making it an ideal treatment for those who are expecting.
Report Of Pregnancy Rate While You Are Breastfeeding
Overall, breastfeeding is a decent form of birth control and is officially called the Lactational Amenorrhea Method (LAM). As with other birth control methods, LAM has to be used correctly in order to be effective. The criteria for using LAM is as follows:

- Your baby must be under six months old.
- Your baby is almost exclusively breastfed. This means you aren’t supplementing with formula. Some experts say that the baby should not be ingesting more than two mouthfuls per day of water or other foods.
- Your baby is feeding regularly during the day and night. The baby should go no more than four hours between breastfeeding during the day and no more than six hours between breastfeeding during the night.
- Your menstrual periods have not yet resumed.
Is Eating Hot Spicy Foods During Pregnancy Dangerous?
This would be great if it were true. We could then advise you to go home and eat a delicious chicken burrito with extra-hot salsa and you would come back in labor.
This myth may have originated from the fact that spicy foods can cause abdominal cramping. This abdominal pain occurs in the intestines and stomach.
As you near the full term of your pregnancy, your uterus fills your abdominal cavity, which means the cramping may be misconstrued as the uterus contracting.
More than a few women have stories about eating spicy food and within hours ending up in the labor and delivery ward, only to be sent home again because they were not yet in labor. Their stomach and intestines were contracting, not their uterus.
Sore Throat And Medication Remedies
A sore throat is just that. Some toddlers will identify it clearly, with a perfunctory “My throat hurts.” Others will complain of mouth pain, itching in the neck, or a spicy taste. Most will be fussy.
Some sore throats are so mild that they cause little pain and eating and drinking are not affected. But other sore throats are severe, limiting the amount a toddler can eat or drink.

The most common cause of a sore throat in a toddler is infection. The infection may be caused by either a bacteria or a virus. Among bacteria, Group A beta-hetnolytic streptococcus (GABHS, more commonly known as strep throat) is the number one culprit.
GABHS is one particular type of streptococcal infection. Other types of strep can also be found in the mouth and throat, but they generally don’t cause illness.
Effective Remedies For Bronchitis
If the cause of the bronchitis is a bacterial infection, antibiotics will be necessary. However, most cases are caused by viruses, and there are no specific medicines available to fight viruses.
Sometimes with viral bronchitis, your doctor will suggest an antibiotic to prevent a secondary bacterial infection. However, this approach is not standard.

One exception to the rule that viruses aren’t treated with specific medicines is influenza. Influenza, or true “flu,” can cause sudden and severe illness, including bronchitis.
There are several antiviral medications available to treat influenza. These medicines are expensive, and many of them are not yet approved for toddlers.
However, if your child is diagnosed with influenza, your doctor may prescribe an antiviral medication such as Tamiflu to shorten the course of the illness and reduce its severity.
Common Side Effects And Symptoms Of Pregnancy
Does every woman have sore breasts, nausea, bloated belly, and constipation in early pregnancy? Thankfully, no—what a horrible world that would be.
The problem with “feeling pregnant” is that everyone feels the effects of pregnancy differently. The following list from Obstetrics: Normal and Problem Pregnancies describes some of the normal side effects and symptoms of pregnancy that one might expect:
- Appetite. You may experience an increased appetite starting early in the first trimester and possibly extending into the latter portion of the pregnancy—assuming you aren’t throwing up every five minutes.
You may even want to eat crazy things like dirt, coal, or toothpaste. If you don’t have a craving to eat newspaper, not to worry, a simple mild increase in appetite is normal.
Understanding Constipation In Toddlers
Some toddlers poop three times a day, and others go once every three days. Both are normal. Just because one child poops less frequently than another does not mean that the child is constipated. The definition of constipation has two parts.
First, a constipated ‘child goes less frequently than what is usual for him. Second, the stool is firm and difficult to pass. If the stool comes out soft, no matter how long it has been since your child’s last bowel movement, he’s not constipated.
Why do many parents automatically think that when their child poops infrequently, he is constipated? It is because the longer stool stays in the colon and rectum, the more firm it becomes. One of the jobs of the colon is to remove water from stool.
So it stands to reason that when the stool sits for a prolonged period of time, more water is removed from it, and the stool becomes hard and dry. (The opposite also is true: in the case of diarrhea, when stool passes through the intestine rapidly, there is not much time for the colon to remove excess water, and so it comes out wet and runny.)
Types Of Herbal Remedies For Pregnancy Woman
Herbalism or phytotherapy—the use of plant extracts for healing—is now widely used and is one of the most exciting areas of medical research.
Different parts of different plants are used: roots, stems, flowers, leaves, bark, sap, fruit or seeds depending on which has the highest concentration of active ingredient.
Herbal remedies can have powerful effects: between 30 and 40 per cent of prescription drugs are in fact derived from plants. For this reason, it is important that, with a few exceptions, you do not use any medicinal herb during pregnancy unless advised to by a doctor or qualified herbal practitioner.
This is especially important during the first three months of pregnancy when your baby’s blueprint is being laid down, although ginger, German chamomile or fennel may be used in early pregnancy to relieve morning sickness.
In later pregnancy, garlic, cornsilk, psyllium, meadowsweet and lime flower may be used to relieve certain ailments. Raspberry leaf may also be used in preparation for labor.
Other herbs should be avoided during pregnancy unless prescribed by a qualified herbalist as some can stimulate uterine contractions and should never be used during pregnancy, although they may be recommended during childbirth.
The following advice comes from the Register of Chinese Oriental Herbal Medicines:
Things To Do If Your Pregnancy Vitamin Is Making You Sick
There are many women that have problems such as morning sickness and other such things. Imagine that you are about two months pregnant and you just can’t seem to stop getting sick, what are you supposed to do?
Well you know that you need to take your pregnancy vitamin but the thought of doing this just almost makes you sick just thinking about it. This might not just be the fact that you are pregnant or what you eat that makes you sick, it might very well the vitamin that you are taking, so what to do now.

Pregnancy vitamins are very important and something that a pregnant woman needs to take to stay healthy and make sure that their baby develops the way that they should. But because of what a pregnant woman needs, pregnancy vitamins contain a large amount of iron and folic acid, both of which have the ability to make you sick. So if you put that with the fact that you stomach and body are going through changes then there is a much better change that you could get sick to your stomach.
Medical Research On Wild Yam And Fertility
Multiple articles in print and on the Web describe the benefits of taking wild yam or wild yam extract in order to increase fertility.
We have yet to locate any articles in medical journals to support the claims of these wild yam fans. It’s our personal opinion that the wild yam claims are one of the biggest scams of the decade.
One of the reasons we feel this to be a scam is that the companies marketing this product cannot substantiate their claims with any scientific data.
Let’s look at the wild yam and explore the wide-ranging claims associated with it.
Easiest Way To Solve Child Congestion And Noisy Breathing
If your child is congested, you want her nose to drain. The easiest way to make this happen is to go into a steam shower or steamy bathroom. (Make sure to prevent the hot water from coming into direct contact with you or your child.)
The old-fashioned trick of putting a towel over the face and leaning over a pot of boiling water also works. However, this can be dangerous with a toddler: the water can spill, and the steam can be extremely hot, both of which are capable of burning your child. Another way to get steam up the nose is to have your child drink soup or other warm liquids.
Regardless of your steaming approach, the steam will work its way up the nose within minutes. Once the steam has helped to break up the congestion, an older child can usually blow her nose.
Younger toddlers, however, have difficulty mastering nose blowing. You can try using a bulb syringe (also called a nasal aspirator).
This plastic handheld nose and mouth sucker can be used to suck out the mucus, but most toddlers won’t let you near their noses with an aspirator.
When neither nose blowing nor suction is an option, you are left with waiting to see whether the congestion starts to drain on its own. Although steam is fairly safe, do not stay in a steamy environment for too long. Five to 15 minutes should be plenty.
Avoid Unhealthy Food Source During Pregnancy
Pregnant women are particularly susceptible to some food-borne infections owing to their altered immunity, and because infections that may prove harmless to the mother can seriously affect the baby’s development.
Keep your kitchen clean and dry and, as part of normal hygiene practice, wash your hands thoroughly before preparing foods. It is also a good idea to keep pets out of the kitchen at all times.
Store raw meat at the bottom of the fridge, covered, and separate from cooked foods. To reduce the risk of infection, the temperature of your fridge should be below 5 °C and that of your freezer below minus 18 °C.
Frozen produce must be defrosted thoroughly before cooking and all foods should be cooked or reheated thoroughly. Throw away all foods past their ‘best by’ date.
Avoid foods that can increase the risk of infection with Salmonella, Listeria or Toxoplasma such as:
Effective Remedies For Fever Blisters Or Canker Sores
Whether your child has fever blisters or canker sores, the first thing to do is to make him comfortable. For sores inside the mouth, try to avoid foods that are sharp and crunchy, such as potato chips. Small, sharp pieces of food will chronically reinjure the sores.

Also avoid acidic, spicy, and salty foods. This will help reduce pain during eating. And check that your toothpaste does not contain SLS. If it does, use another type.
For sores around the mouth, try to minimize stretching or chapping of the skin. Toddlers with fever blisters will often lick the sores — sometimes multiple times a minute — to relieve the pain.
The moisture of the saliva temporarily soothes the area, but as soon as the air dries it, the skin becomes drier and more irritated. Eventually, the skin will crack, making it prone to secondary infection by bacteria.
Morning Sickness Won’t Harm Your Baby
Without a doubt, this one is pure myth. No one has to worry that morning sickness will cause a miscarriage, that you might vomit so hard that you’ll push the baby out or do harm to it.
Studies have shown women with morning sickness tend to have lower rates of miscarriage and preterm labor. If you have morning sickness to the point where you’re vomiting multiple times a day, the only way to harm your baby is if you become dehydrated or cannot consume adequate calories. Otherwise, the baby is in its own little environment called the “bag of water” and will be fine.

Two evolutionary biologists at Cornell University found that morning sickness may actually be a way for a pregnant woman to protect the baby inside of her. They claim that certain food aversions protect her from consuming substances that might damage the baby in some way.1 After researching thousands of pregnancies, they determined the following information regarding morning sickness:
Alternative Treatment For Otitis Externa
Antibiotic drops are almost always used in otitis externa. The drops are inserted directly into the ear, minimizing any systemic (whole-body) absorption of the medication. They typically work quickly and painlessly, although some children continue to have pain for several days after starting the drops.
Dozens of antibiotic drops are available. Some are sold as single antibiotics, some as combinations, and some are mixed with steroids to help reduce (swelling in the canal. Some ear drops are sold over the counter, while others are available by prescription only.

An ear wick may be helpful to mop up the fluid in the canal and increase the delivery of antibiotic drops. Wicks are sold in many pharmacies and drugstores. They are made of foam or gauze and are placed in the ear, remaining there through an entire course of antibiotic drops. The drops travel down the wick, causing it to expand and bring the drops into contact with the infected skin.
Hypnotherapy For Childbirth
Hypnotherapy can help to prepare you for childbirth. It can produce a sense of well-being and comfort, induce a deep feeling of peace and reduce pain and tension. Greater muscle control can be achieved and recovery from childbirth is often much faster than usual.
Hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis can be used in conjunction with regular natural childbirth techniques, and incorporate deep breathing and Visualization for maximum benefit to both mother and baby.
Hypnotherapy can help to make the whole experience a more joyful one, giving the mother greater control over her body and her feelings.
An experienced hypnotherapist can assist in the release of deep-seated fears or negative imprints from the subconscious mind so that these imprints no longer trigger off unwanted feelings or behaviors. This is done in a safe and gentle way and is always with the client’s permission. Read the rest of this entry »
Lymph Node Infection In Neck
The “glands” in the neck are lymph nodes. These nodes are part of the larger lympb system, a network of filters responsible for removing waste from the body.
The lymph nodes serve as important components of the body’s immune system because they produce immune cells that fight infection, and they aid in the disposal of bacteria and viruses.
The lymph system is made up of dozens of lymph nodes connected by lymphatic vessels. The most easily palpable nodes are in the neck, groin, armpits, and back of the head.
When your child gets sick and the lymph system is working hard to clear the infection, lumps and bumps in these areas are not uncommon. Enlargement of the lymph nodes is called lympbadenopathy.
Affirmations And Visualization For Pregnancy
One of the most successful Visualization techniques is designed to be carried out just before you go to bed. This allows your subconscious mind to dwell on what you desire during sleep and improves the chance of a successful outcome.

- Choose an appropriate positive affirmation such as: ‘I am looking forward to a fulfilling and pain-free birth‘.
- Every night, when you go to bed, imagine your baby being born in a calm, relaxed, joyful and enjoyable, pain-free way.
- Feel your love for the baby growing inside you as you welcome it into your heart and family.
- Repeat your positive thought slowly and carefully to yourself.
- Now touch the bed with the little finger of your left hand. Repeat the thought and touch the bed with the ring finger of your left hand while concentrating on the warm, loving glow you will feel when your baby is eventually born in an easy and pain-free labor.
- Continue repeating your affirmation, while touching the bed with each finger (and thumb) of the left hand, and then the right. Then reverse the process, touching the bed starting with the little finger of the right hand.
Help Your Child Cope With Stridor
As long as your child is breathing comfortably, there are a few things you can try at home. Sometimes sitting your child upright makes breathing easier by taking pressure off the airway. Cool mist or cold air often helps reduce airway swelling, easing breathing.
For croup, alternate between cool air (outside) and steam (from the shower), spending about 10 minutes in each. The combination soothes the throat and reduces swelling. This usually resolves croup completely.
When you take your child from a warm, steamy bathroom out into the cool night air, don’t forget to put a jacket or blanket around him.
One of the most important things you can do is keep your child calm. This reduces crying and diminishes stridor. A few minutes in front of the TV may quickly ease an exacerbation.
